Admission Requirements

Families staying at Ronald McDonald House^® Northern Alberta need to:

• Be Parents/Guardians of a child receiving medical treatment who live outside a 45 km radius from the Stollery Children's Hospital
• Have a referral from hospital staff for first-time visits
• Have a child being treated who is 18 years of age or younger
• Be a sibling of the child receiving medical treatment (maximum of 3 children per room)
• If either parent is alone, then one support adult may replace the absent parent
• Only one room per family is allocated

Anyone who is suffering from or who has recently been exposed to a communicable illness cannot be admitted (including family members with colds, flu or sore throats). This policy is vital in minimizing risk to children with weak immune systems.
