Ronald McDonald House Northern Alberta
HomeVolunteering: Job Descriptions

Job Descriptions

There are several types of volunteer opportunities at Ronald McDonald House® Northern Alberta. Some of these opportunities include:

Bakers

Volunteers provide homemade baking for the House, including clean-up and packaging the baking appropriately. Baking in the House assists in providing a comfortable, home-like atmosphere for families staying at the House.

Decorators

Volunteers provide support to the families by decorating the House during holidays and seasons.

Dinner Groups

A group of volunteers purchase groceries and provide dinner for families staying at the House. This includes clean-up and packaging the leftovers accordingly. A meal already prepared for the families greatly reduces the stress incurred after a potentially long day.

Front Host

Volunteers provide support at the front desk in a reception/greeting role for families, visitors, other volunteers, and staff.

Housekeeping

Volunteers provide support by completing housekeeping/maintenance duties as required ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the House.

Special Events

Volunteers provide support to the families in a wide variety of roles at fundraising events.

Special Skills

Volunteers provide support to the families utilizing their expertise (i.e. crafts, reading to children, yoga, etc.).
