Priority System

The priority system was implemented to ensure that families with the most serious medical needs receive the support they need. Guests are not admitted based on financial need or on a first come, first served basis, they are admitted based on the medical condition of the child.

Priority 1:

• ICU patients
• Oncology inpatients
• NICU babies
• Patients awaiting transplant or active post transplant care patients

Priority 2:

• Inpatients requiring two or more nights in hospital
• Oncology out patients in active treatment

Priority 3:

• Inpatients requiring one night in hospital
• Oncology patients (assessments, testing and post treatment follow-up visits)
• Patients undergoing day surgery or other surgical procedures
• Pregnant mothers with a medically compromised fetus
• Out patients (testing, assessments and therapy)
